Congratulations to Catherine Eaton at Parkwood Elementary, Stephanie Fox at Pattonville Heights Middle School, and April Rainwater at Holman Middle School for receiving $500 classroom grants from the Missouri Retired Teachers Foundation Region 14.
Pattonville High School English learner teacher Eleanor Taylor was announced as one of 17 Regional Teachers of the Year who have been selected as semifinalists for the 2022 Missouri Teacher of the Year award by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
We are excited to welcome all our new and returning students and staff back into our classrooms when school begins on Aug. 23. Over the summer months, we have been monitoring local conditions related to COVID-19 and developing plans with two priorities in mind:
Keeping everyone healthy and safe; and
Providing in-person learning, five days a week, without interruption.
After reviewing guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the St. Louis County Department of Public Health (DPH) and the American Academy of Pediatrics, we are putting in place the following health and safety protocols for the new school year until further notice. For more details on our health and safety protocols, visit our COVID-19 Information Hub at bit.ly/PSDCOVIDinfohub.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will continue to reimburse schools for free meals for all students regardless of family income during the 2021-2022 school year, and Pattonville School District encourages all families to continue filling out the free/reduced meals forms as there may be additional benefits for families.
For example, if families qualify for free/reduced meals, they could be eligible for up to $50 off their internet bill.
Some funding and programs available to school districts are based on the percentage of families who fill out the free/reduced lunch applications. Applications are available in all school offices and on the district website.
