Pattonville earns national Gold Medallion Award for communications

Pattonville’s school-community relations department earned a Gold Medallion Award from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) for the second year in a row. The Gold Medallion is NSPRA’s highest award and is the only national award that specifically recognizes comprehensive, strategic school public relations programs. This year, five Gold Medallion winners were selected from among 53 competitive entries by school PR programs across the United States. Pattonville earned the Gold Medallion in the area of COVID-19 communications.

Free meals offered for children this summer

Children ages 18 and under can access free summer meals through Pattonville’s participation in the federal Seamless Summer Program. Offered through the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the program is designed to ensure students have access to meals during the summer when school is not in session. 

Meals will be available from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. weekdays at Drummond Elementary School. The curbside pickup meal will include a hot lunch for the current day and breakfast for the following day. Students in the elementary summer school program at Drummond will also receive a free lunch.

Gould earns NCI Public Service Award

Patty Gould, Pattonville's director of school-business partnerships, was selected to receive the Public Service Leadership Award from North County Incorporated (NCI). The award recognizes an outstanding individual whose long-time service has had a positive impact on the community and/or public body they serve. NCI advocates for North St. Louis County by connecting community, municipal and business leaders to collaboratively work toward positive growth, economic development and marketing to sustain a great quality of life.

PHS recognizes Outstanding Senior, other honorees

Pattonville High School senior Mya Harris was named the Outstanding Senior for the Class of 2021. The Outstanding Senior is chosen each year from teacher nominations. The high school also honored several seniors with Outstanding Senior Departmental Awards and other special recognitions. Each department recognizes one student who has shown outstanding academic achievement, leadership and citizenship. Pattonville senior a finalist for NSDA National Student of the Year

Pattonville High School senior Mya Harris was chosen as one of seven 2021 William Woods Jr. National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) Student of the Year finalists. After being named the Eastern Missouri District Student of the Year in March, Harris went through a rigorous process that included a video presentation and a panel interview.
