 Students from Pattonville’s elementary schools and Remington Traditional School participated in the annual Districtwide Elementary Mark Twain Book Battle today at the Learning Center. The two teams from Willow Brook Elementary claimed first and second place and a team from Bridgeway Elementary finished in third.
Students from Pattonville’s elementary schools and Remington Traditional School participated in the annual Districtwide Elementary Mark Twain Book Battle today at the Learning Center. The two teams from Willow Brook Elementary claimed first and second place and a team from Bridgeway Elementary finished in third. 
The book battle is a trivia-type competition hosted by Pattonville's school library technology specialists. During the event, teams of students compete on their knowledge of a predesignated list of books.
 Three Pattonville residents were sworn into office to serve on the Pattonville Board of Education. Returning board member Mary Kay Campbell and new board member Dr. Daniel Wentz were elected to the board during the April 5 election and will serve three-year terms. Lisa Kickbusch was appointed to the board to fill a one-year position after the resignation of board member Mindy Ridings. Kickbusch was selected after the board accepted applications for the seat and conducted interviews on April 11. All three were sworn into office on April 12 by board president Dr. Brian Gray.

The award recognizes the success of students who receive services from SSD for their accomplishments in different areas, including academics, arts, athletics, employment and community service. Both students were nominated by teacher Ashley Haar.
