In the final full week of school, students in Ms. Libby Hilker’s second grade class organized a spirit week for everyone at Remington Traditional.
“We were asked to because we had our own spirit week a few weeks ago and people saw the fun that we were having and wanted to get in on it.”
Zakiyah Davis said she had a good time preparing for the week including coming up with the themes, writing scripts and making the morning announcements.
“You don't know what you're going to come up with but then you start writing and come up with good ideas,” she said. “You know people are having fun when you see everyone dressed up.”
Each day had a different theme such as pajama, favorite character and decades.
“My favorite day was probably Disney Day because our whole class dressed up as dalmatians.”
Hilker is proud of her class for working so hard.
“It was a group effort and everyone played a part,” she said. “They wanted to work on it and we pieced it all together.”
Davis is celebrating an amazing year at Remington, but said she is looking forward to next year.
“It was really fun and now I'm ready to do even better in third grade.”
