Kellen Thames scored his 1,000th career point after the Pirates won the tip-off in Wednesday’s game against Lafayette. The junior now has put up 1,024 career points while wearing the green and white jersey.
He is chasing the Pattonville High School career record of 1,520 points set by Darrow Washington who graduated in 1977.
As a freshman, Thames contributed 245 points and he added 443 points as a sophomore. This season, he has collected 336 points (so far) for the 16-1 basketball team.
He is 496 points away from breaking the 44-year-old record.
