Students, staff recognized at the Nov. 14 board meeting

Each month during the school year, the Pattonville Board of Education honors students, staff and volunteers who have gained recognition outside of the district or who’ve made a special contribution to Pattonville. Learn more about students and staff who were recognized this month.

Students from Remington Traditional School and Pattonville middle schools auditioned for the All-Suburban Middle School Band and the St. Louis All-Suburban Honors Orchestra. These musicians auditioned amongst hundreds of students from school districts across the St. Louis area and the following were selected for these honors groups for their outstanding performances. These students will have rehearsals with the other selected students in the area and perform at concerts on Jan. 6 and 7, 2024.

Remington Traditional School

Band honors

Remington Traditional School eighth grader Taylor Flores was selected to the St. Louis All-Suburban Honors Jazz Band for tenor saxophone. He is directed by Remington band teacher Andrew Smith.

 

Holman Middle School

Band honors

Students from Holman Middle School selected to the St. Louis All-Suburban Honors Band are eighth graders Ann Russell for flute and Ellie Winkler and Raymoen Goodrich Jr. for clarinet. Also selected for clarinet is seventh grader Peter Burk. The Holman band is directed by Adam Hall and Steve White.

Raymoen Goodrich Jr. was selected to the St. Louis All-Suburban Honors Band for clarinet.

Orchestra honors

Students from Holman Middle School selected to the St. Louis All-Suburban Honors Orchestra are sixth graders Garrison Parker for viola, Caleb Sosman for violin and Emanuel Turja Elvira for viola. Eighth graders Drake Kelly was also selected for viola and Sophia Lewis was named as violin alternate. The Holman orchestra is directed by Irena Goren-Scheer.

Pattonville Heights Middle School

Band honors

Students from Pattonville Heights Middle School selected to the St. Louis All-Suburban Honors Band are seventh grader Omolola Ogunmola for trombone and eighth graders Savannah Harris for tuba, Olivia Hurd for alto saxophone, Maya Roberts for clarinet and Addyson Peterman for flute. The Pattonville Heights band is directed by Abby Hall and Liz Pace.

Orchestra honors

Pattonville Heights Middle School eighth grader Clare Derhake was selected to the St. Louis All-Suburban Honors Orchestra for violin. The Pattonville Heights orchestra is directed by Marie Brown and Carlye Feeney.
