Dear Pattonville families and staff,
Pattonville has worked closely with the St. Louis County Department of Public Health (DPH) throughout the pandemic to keep everyone in our schools and buildings as safe and healthy as possible.
Based on recent research and information, including CDC studies involving Pattonville, the DPH recently released new updates for schools that will change how quarantines are handled for the remainder of the school year. While these changes do not eliminate classroom quarantines entirely, they do offer additional criteria that may allow us to quarantine fewer students in some cases. In the event that there is a classroom exposure, impacted families will receive details regarding quarantine requirements specific to your student’s classroom situation.

The Child Development playschool program held a 50th year party this morning at Pattonville High School and current and former teachers in the family and consumer sciences department were there to celebrate with current high schoolers and preschoolers.

Sixth grade science students at Pattonville Heights worked on a lab yesterday to investigate the results of variation and competition on a population. They studied a population of birds with different beak traits that were trying to eat beans that had variations in size and color. The students acted as the population of birds using different eating utensils as the beaks.
“We're starting our unit on natural selection and adaptation so they're looking at different traits to see which one is the best trait to hunt,” teacher Terri Sallee said.
