High school students honored during White Coat Ceremony

It’s been Jasmine Gray’s dream to be a doctor since she was 5 years old. On Thursday, she got another step closer to making that dream come true. 

The Pattonville High School Biomedical Sciences White Coat Ceremony was held on Thursday, Sept. 2, in the main gym to recognize Gray and 22 other students who have successfully completed coursework in Pattonville's nationally certified biomedical sciences program. Due to social distancing needs, only students receiving their white coats were recognized in-person.

Teacher dyes hair blue after students win challenge

There are many ways to reward students for good behavior. A Remington Traditional teacher dyed her hair blue to reward hers. 

Libby Hilker, a second grade teacher, rewarded her students for earning more marbles than her in August by changing the color of her hair. 

“Every time they do something exceptional or just way above and beyond or if I notice a really great act of kindness, they get a marble,” she said. “Anytime they need to work on something a little bit, I get a marble.”

The class decided they were going to make a challenge out of it and at the end of the first month of school, the students had 208 marbles. Hilker had only 188.

The Pirate Mock Trial Team will have an informational meeting during Contact Time today in Room D115. New & returning members are invited. Please see Ms. Raymond in D115 for a pass.

Are you interested in FBLA or DECA?  There will be a meeting today during contact time in B212.  

Educators Rising Club will meet today during contact time in room B102.  Anyone interested in a career in education and teaching is invited to join!  

Juniors and Seniors, if you have an AC Lab this semester and would like to be a PHS Office Worker,  stop by the CSO in room E200 to apply!!!

The National English Honor Society will be taking applications for membership from Juniors and Seniors until Sept. 10.  Please see Mr. Lopinot or your English Teacher for an application

Renaissance will be having a meeting in B104 today during Contact Time.  See Mrs. Moritz in D109 for a pass.

The Fiber Arts Club (formerly known as Knitting Club) will have its first meeting today during contact time in Ms. Mulanax room E206. If you knit, crochet, or do other fiber arts, or you would like to learn how, come to our first meeting and join the fun. Please get a pass ahead of time from Ms. Mulanax!

College Planning Night for Students & Families will be on Thursday, Sept 9, from 6:30-7:30 pm in the auditorium. This is your chance to learn all about the process & your college options. You will get to hear from college admissions experts as well as a recent PHS college graduate. These expert panelists are from Missouri University of Science & Technology, University of Memphis, and St. Louis Community College

After School Supervision All Mshsaa sports teams and activities staying after school need to report to the low ceiling room. All students should be in there by 1:25.

Parents, students, staff gather to prioritize facility needs

More than 120 parents, students and staff from every school in Pattonville met at a districtwide Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP) meeting on Aug. 31 to review potential plans for facility updates and to prioritize the needs for their buildings. Representatives from the architectural firm Ittner Cordogan Clark Group, along with Pattonville district and school leaders, were on hand to share the district’s work to date on developing a new master facilities plan and answer questions. The individual school improvement teams heard an overview from the architects and then met and discussed the project lists developed for their schools.
