The fiber arts club will meet during contact time in Ms.Mulanax’s room E206 this Thursday March 10th. Come by before then to get a pass

 

 Key Club will be meeting after school today in room g112.

 

If you ARE NOT participating in a Spring sport, Football off-season weight room workouts are Monday-Thursday from 2:30pm to 4pm except early release days.

 

 Community Service Opportunity:

Volunteers are needed this weekend at Holman for the Robotics event from 8:30am-noon! Sign-up in the CSO!

 

Seniors who have more than two hundred (200)  community service hours by the application deadline are encouraged to apply for the 2022 Community Service Scholarship. 

Applications are posted on the PHS Community Service website  https://sites.google.com/psdr3.org/communityservice/home  and on Naviance.

You may also pick a copy up in the CSO.

Applications must be submitted no later than Friday April 8, 2022 to the CSO.

 

 Congratulations to our National Champion Varsity Drill Team!  They traveled to Orlando last weekend to compete in the NDA Nationals event, where they claimed top prize in Medium Varsity Hip Hop.  Thank you to our team and coaches for representing PHS in outstanding fashion!

VDT wins hip hop title at the NDA National Championship

🏆 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS - Medium Varsity Hip Hop

The Pattonville High School varsity drill team was named the top dance team in the country at the NDA National Championship in Orlando, Florida. This is the fifth time in program history the team has won a national championship (most in Missouri) and the first since 2000.

Pattonville Heights students make stuffed animals out of kindergarten drawings

Kindergarteners at Bridgeway Elementary School saw their drawings come to life when they received stuffed animal likenesses of their imaginary monsters.

Pattonville Heights Middle School family and consumer sciences teacher Elizabeth Stockmann collaborated with Nisa Peters’s class for the project. 

“The kindergarteners all drew a monster using color and patterns and my FACS 3 students had to interpret an imaginative idea and create a real-life version of it,” Stockmann said. 

The groups met today and presented the stuffed animals to the original artists.

Congratulations to the PHS Robotics team for placing 8th in the Missouri/Kansas robotics competition this past weekend in Rolla, Missouri. They were part of the winning alliance that earned the second highest match score and they set a personal best for meet scores for this season.

 

PBL unit allows French students to pick what they study

Margaret Hall was inspired to use the project-based learning method with her French 2 students to allow them a chance to learn about more than just the modern language.

She surveyed her students and said the results were eye-opening.

“They’ve studied the language, but they shared with me that they are interested in so much more about France and the Francophone culture.”

Hall created a three-week PBL unit that allowed students to study a topic they were passionate about on their own and then present it to the class.
